National Volunteer Month Recognition
Volunteers are the backbone of many programs and events in our Rocket community. During Monday evening's School Board meeting, we had the honor of recognizing some outstanding contributors as part of National Volunteer Appreciation Month. Since its inception, Tom Kinard has been an essential part of our districtwide Backpack Program. Mrs. Teresa Weaver, Spring Grove Area Middle School Counselor and Backpack Program founder, extended our thanks as we acknowledged his dedication.
Among our volunteers are individuals who have been integral to our S.T.R.I.V.E. program, which has distinguished Spring Grove Area School District for nearly two decades. This initiative offers senior citizens aged 60 and above a tax credit equivalent to the state's minimum wage. We honored Kathleen DeCello, Nova Gingerich, Mary Robinson, Donna Shaffer, and Donna Zortman for their steadfast commitment and service as part of the S.T.R.I.V.E. program.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers. Your dedication resonates far beyond our schools' walls!
